Asaada is a Suriname born singer who lived abroad for many years and has recently returned to her native country. During her years in the USA Asaada performed with different bands including Funklectic Lion en her own formation Umbrella. After moving from New York to sunny Miami, Asaada recorded the album “Egypsikal Woeman”, a blend of soul, fusion and trip hop music. In December 2010, Asaada recorded the song Divine, a composition by Norman van Geerke and lyrics by Guus Pengel. The song is produced by Van Geerke Music. Divine also features Surinam rap- artist Ori, a well known performer in the Suriname rap and music scene
