Tha Great was born Alexander Bernard Jefferies, on June 20th, along with 2 sisters and one brother. He started writing music while he was in the sixth grade along with two of his friends. Up until the time he was 15, Alexander thought he had been born in Chicago like most of his family on his father's side, but turns out he was born in Charleston, MO with his mother's family. However, he still reps the Chi and Kansas City,MO. He moved from Chicago when he was around 8 or 9 years old. His father and mother were never married (from what he can recall) this meant he was bounced back and forth between the two. Alexander never really settled into one spot, until he moved to 33rd and Highland (KCMO) in the 7th grade, "My parents always fought over who had custody." He remembers, until he became a teen. At the age of 15, he was kicked out of the house, first by his father and then by his mother. They didn't like the fact that he started smoking w**d, so they felt this is the only way they could discipline him for going against their rules. Ever since then he has been on his own, sleeping in friends cars and houses when they let him or snuck him in. Now all he feels he knows is the streets and writing music and linking up with friends from the neighborhood ( the group Dirty Mob) who help him survive he claims. Without most of them he doesn't know where he'd be at this point in life or if he would be here at all, "They gave me food when I didn't work,gave me shelter when they could and couldn't. (They) Also gave me more game,more ways to make money...The streets have been tough but I have to continue livivng." He met the mother of his now two children, while working at Taco Bell at the end of 2004. She helped him out alot also, he claims. She would sneek him in her mothers house to sleep, eat, and get clean. Around the time his brother Jason had given him a car. His first car to be exact, so he could go see his girl every day. His family tried to help out but his brother was basiclly in the same position. His mother had lied on him several times, had him sent to jail and all kinds of things. Half a year later his girl told him she was pregnant and that's when things began to get crazy. His father went to jail for six years, his mother moved to North Carolina, and both his sisters got married. His child was born, he started a family, and one of his closet friend's father built them a studio from the ground up! Now he has 6 Mixtapes and 3 original albums all over the web. Still doing shows all over the USA and soon to be the world! While bringing something new, something fresh to the ever changing hip-hop world. Bringing that substance back to the music helping a lost youth, and exposing all corruptness found through out our country. He calls himself a voice for those who have no platform. Hoping to do right by every last one of his fans and supporters, all while maintaining a level head of humility.
