This song came about from a jam my friend Elias and I had late last year in my bedroom studio. Elias, originally from Switzerland, studying in Sydney was introduced to me through a mutual friend on a surf trip to Bali. Finding that we both had music in common, in late 2015 we decided that we would get together and make something. I didn’t touch the beat we had made until April 2016, when I got inspired by an Ethnic sample pack I had that worked perfect with some of the vocal samples that we recorded. This made me want to take our simple 4 bar loop and make it into a full song. I was Inspired by some of my favourite Instrumental artists like Seekae and Shlohmo by their use of Organic sound scapes mixed with deep electronic production. By using foreign sounding samples, I wanted to make a song that would take people somewhere else and help them to reflect on the different cultures we have around the world and how music can bridge the gap between them.
