简介
We are 4 talented musician/singer/song-writers harboring secret ambitions to become big-time rock stars. As we wait patiently to be "discovered", we strive our best to keep our true identities hidden from the public. Lest our day to day existence as educator, administrator, proprietor becomes compromised. Can you keep the secret? Lee Coats (guitar, bass guitar, harmonica, vocals, songwriter)-Lee is one of the founding members of THE GUISE and has written several of its original songs. Lee is blessed with a singing voice some describe as “whimsical and soulful”. A road warrior in his formative performing years, Lee traveled and performed extensively as a solo act, touring from town to town ‘cross the midwest in a VW camper. Lee draws upon those adventurous times when writing many of his songs. These days his roots are deep within the Ozarks, and besides performing regionally with THE GUISE, Lee has become an established pillar of the community as owner of Springfield Music. Chris Craig (guitar, keyboard, vocals, songwriter)-Chris, another founding group member, has the biggest influence on the stylings of THE GUISE. Chris is an accomplished singer, guitar and piano performer, yet claims that the drums are really what he plays best. And after hearing him perform some of his rhythmic creations while playing his guitar, we might have to agree. Chris has written many of the originals performed by THE GUISE and like Lee, Chris’s performing roots go way back. As a teenager, he played down in Branson, Missouri for the Baldknobbers, and has played with various local bands since. Chris even spent time in Nashville’s country music scene showcasing his songwriting skills while working on his Doctorate at Vanderbilt University. Oh yeah, Chris’s day job just happens to be Acting Associate Provost at Missouri State University, where he is affectionately know as the “Doc of Rock”. Neil Adams (bass guitar, guitar, vocals, songwriter)-Neil is the bass player for THE GUISE and has also written some of the songs performed by THE GUISE. Neil enjoys singing the tight background harmonies but every now and then can be persuaded to sing lead. Neil is a teacher with Springfield, Missouri Public School District. He teaches science and computer technology in the PALS program, an alternative school for elementary children.
