简介
Longtime So Cal punk fixture Johny Vile (Groovie Ghoulies, White Trash Debutantes, Million 6, Mad Parade) and guitarist Jake Lush (Rock City News / Best Guitar Nominee 2003-2007) met while participating in the carnival of fun known as the White Trash Debutantes. After Jake joined the group in 2000, the group (starring punk legend Ginger Coyote) recorded a CD on Orange Peel Records, followed by two successful west coast tours. Along the way, Johny and Jake began collaborating. Songs like 2 4 1, Food Fight and Whipping Boy made their way into the Debutantes line up but soon it was apparent that the two had more ideas than the band had room. Realizing that their stint in W.T.D. had run its course, the two decided to keep collaborating, working, writing and ACTION 45 was soon born. Johny Vile and his blood red Vistalites anchor the band. With influences from power-pop to punk, his ‘Vile style’ is based on classic hi-hat work accentuating a metronome mocking foot pedal that puts the double “peddlers” in check! Over the course of his career, Johny has played everywhere from legendary halls to lowly dives and with gods to goons yet continues to play with passion night after night. Johny provides the band with speed, power and dynamics that helps make the sound of ACTION 45 unique. Excelling at all things guitar driven, Jake Lush provides a wall of “Les Paul into a Marshall set to 11” sound. The rhythm work is strong and interlocking, keeping the integrity of the song in mind at all times. The occasional Lush lead is powerful yet tasteful and leaves its mark once finished. Musically, both wanted the songs to be energized by loud yet dynamic guitar and to have strong vocal melodies and harmonies. Chris Plank, a So Cal native from Glendale, joined ACTION 45 in early 2007. Chris has been playing in and around the scene in a few bands, the latest of which is JIHADIST. His playing has been compared to many great bass players as he mixes punk, metal, funk, fusion and rock giving him a style all his own. Chris adds power to the already strong sound of ACTION 45. Chris and Johny combine to forge intricate yet uncommonly catchy back beats that are complimented by Jake\'s riff based guitars. Now in 2008, the Action 45 line-up has been completed with the addition of new singer Deuce X. Machina. Formerly of Division Six and hailing from New York, Seattle and everywhere in between, deuce\'s high-energy vocals and dynamic stage presence bring Action 45 to the next level - an aggressive full-frontal performance that transforms the music to an adrenalin-pumping live experience. Having played with legends like The Dead Kennedys, T.V. Smith, The Gears, and Agent Orange, they\'re punching out music that has been described as, “innovative and driving. The best blend of old school punk meets new school in years!” With lyrics containing old school inspired political outcries, personal pitfalls, and a few pub inspired drinking songs, ACTION 45 have been compared to bands like Foo Fighters, Urge Overkill, Stiff Little Fingers, and The Clash. They’re bringing back the live show and resurrecting the power in power-pop, and the only question they have for you is, are you ready for some ACTION?
