简介
Anointed – one word that embodies the life and ministry of Tomar Jackson. Raised as a “church baby” in the Pentecostal church, developed in the Word church and matured in the Word of Faith movement, this Philadelphia born vessel of God was set apart for ministry. Though reared in the inner city where countless others yielded to the wiles of the enemy, Tomar was seemingly incubated, set apart for training, nurtured and now anointed for such a time as this. Tomar accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at the tender age of five at his family’s local assembly, Holy Temple Church of God In Christ, where his pastor was the late Bishop Ozro Thurston Jones, Jr. It was there Tomar learned of his gift of music, leadership and teaching. He was not just a talented singer, but he was an anointed psalmist that was blessed with the gift to instruct worship teams and choirs. In fact, he was directing convention choirs with over 100 voices as a teenager. Moreover, it was at his first local assembly that he also learned of his capacity to teach the word of God with clarity, revelation and the anointing. Acknowledging the call of God to the ministry at the age of seventeen, Tomar, under the tutelage of his spiritual grandfather, began to understand the dichotomy of his ministry. Known as a “double threat” to the enemy’s camp due to his immense preaching gift and music capacity, Tomar was nurtured to be a leader. He directed various church and community choirs and served on the Youth Advisory Board where he provided counsel to youth and their parents. Sensing that God wanted to enlarge him, in 1995 Tomar was led to Victory Christian Center of Philadelphia under the leadership of Bishop Jimmie A. Ellis, III. Victory was a place of affirmation, as it was the first ministry outside of his childhood local assembly he attended. The anointing of God on Tomar’s life was confirmed. He served in music ministry and in evangelism. He was eventually appointed as Youth Pastor growing the ministry from twenty regular participants to 300 active young people in less than one year. His anointing for the local assembly was solidified during this season of his life. Though Tomar worked secularly in the Human Resource and Training industries at leading regional corporations such as the Philadelphia International Airport and Drexel University, he knew he was being called into full-time ministry. Wanting to be ready for his call at the appointed season, Tomar matriculated at the Center of Urban Theological Seminary and has committed himself to be a life-long pupil in the Word of God. After eight years of faithful service, Tomar joined his current local assembly Freedom Christian Bible Fellowship under Bishop Gilbert Coleman, Jr. A servant to his spiritual father, Tomar continues to actively serve in local ministry, while God has enlarged Tomar to a regional and national platform for his preaching and music ministry. Aiding pastors in the establishment of new territories and ministries, development of leaders, youth ministry, their music ministries and other things, while stirring the souls of thousands, Tomar is a testament of what God can do with those who are faithful to the call.
