简介

B!G features Karma County front man Brendan Gallagher and The Reels' drummer John Boy Bliss. Between them they have a lot of music history, from David Bowie to Jimmy Little and Kylie Minogue, "I Feel Like A Tooheys" to "Love Is In The Air", from Mojo's in Fremantle to Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in London. New songs, old songs, strange songs get thrown into the sonic blender that brought you the atmos and power of Australian classics like Jimmy Little’s Messenger and ‘Quasimodo’s Dream’. UNO is the debut recording from B!G. Yes ladies and gentlemen this is the big one. Five new originals plus Scott Walker’s 1969 classic ‘Duchess’. Like their wildly dynamic live shows UNO will expose you to a diverse range of music, from heart wrenching melodies to raw funk. Just like real life! B!G is about the rhythm in the melody, the beat of the voice, the song of the tom tom……... WARNING: High Emotional Content. Brendan Gallagher is best known as singer/guitarist with Karma County. Over the last fifteen years the band have released six albums and toured around the world. In September 2006 Brendan released his debut solo album On Eve St. In September 2009 he followed up with his second solo album Tooraloo & Tender. Brendan is also the author of The Open Tuning Chord Book For Guitar. Since 1994 it has found it's way into the guitar cases of musicians like David Bowie, Peter Buck (REM), Lee Ritenour, Arlo Guthrie, David Hidalgo (Los Lobos), Daniel Johns (Silverchair), Paul Kelly, Paul Weller, PJ Harvey, Murray ‘Red Wiggle’ Cook and guitarists from Ireland to Lithuania. The new 3rd edition is in shops worldwide now through Music Sales. www.brendangallagher.com.au John Boy Bliss is the co-founder of one of Australia's most respected pop bands of the '80s The Reels, contributing his dictinctive drum style to classic hits like ‘Prefab Heart’, ‘Shout & Deliver’ and the afore mentioned ‘Quasimodos Dream’. In the 80s he played on some iconic Australian TV commercials like ‘Good On You Mum’ and ‘I Feel Like A Tooheys’. John went on to join Dog Trumpet with Reg Mombassa & Pete O’Doherty from Mental As Anything in the mid 90s. In 1997 John Boy co-wrote The A to Zen of Lawn Bowls, the go-to text for anyone interested in the gentle art of bowls. In 2002 he released his solo album Blue Rings. So, yeah, two weirdo authors in the same band playing mad-arse music. As Roald Dahl famously intoned – “expect the unexpected.”
