Charmas performs traditional and modern sea music, Irish ballads, and surf rock. Also. it just so happens that three of the band's members are avid surfers. So when wetsuit pioneer Jack O'Neill, who lived and surfed in Charmas' hometown, and was Irish. left this world, it seemed fitting that Charmas should write an Irish surf ballad for him.

Charmas has previously released a 19-track album called Songs of the Sea, which is purely sea music (acapella sea chanteys, Celtic and Afro-Carribean boat songs, instrumental water music, and maritime-themed folk rock).

The band's live performances include various mixtures of traditional Irish/Scottish music, sea music, Celtic-jazz fusion, and modern Celtic rock.
