简介
This album features 15 songs, an amalgamation of punk, hardcore and industrial rock. Gouede Oussou's vocals and guitars are nihilistic, powerful, intense and distorted. Dave Cochrane and Joel Brown deliver heavy distorted fuzz bass. There is no real pretension here, and although the album has a disturbing sound, it is not done in an attention-seeking, hollow kind of way. It's just some regular guys who happen to be making catchy unique music about ugly violent things, Doris Day this ain't. The first six songs each feature a special guest performance, bringing their unique style to the album. We kick off with delta blues punk featuring Randy Newman from 'Glazed Baby'. Then comes a unique style of Indian hardcore punk with 'Right Speaker Heavy'. Third up is psychadelic hardcore noise punk with Richard Dunn from 'Forkeye'. Fourth is a 'Distorted Pony'-ish grind with David U. Fifth we have Joe Breuer playing 'The Bastards' style and sixth is the sweet voice of Bliss Blood of 'Pain Teens' with 'Terminal Cheesecake' guitars courtesy of Gordon Watson. Tracks 7 to 15 are then performed by the core of Fire Pariah: Dave Cochrane, Joel Brown and Gouede Oussou. This music grows on the listener, give it a chance and you will be rewarded. Fire Pariah's songs probably won't do much for the grandparents, but then, when did that ever matter? Life-changing or original music shouldn't really appeal to mainstream ears. The opinions of casual music listeners are probably of no interest to the fans or musicians responsible for this album. Being liked by the majority is seldom the sign of a decent record, musically or otherwise.
