I wrote this song three years ago when Iowa deployed 3500 soldiers to fight in the Iraqi war. When I wrote it, I had never actually watched someone I cared about go to serve. Now, my guitar player, Jeremy Donohue, who has been with me for almost three years, is deploying to Afghanistan. He is so much more than a guitar player. He is my friend, my big brother, my hero. I am so honored that he agreed to sing this song with me. Be safe, my big brother. I love you and miss you. Come home safe. And always keep the music in your heart.
