Werner Richards is a South African pianist that started his journey with his music at the age of 4 years old, mimicking his older siblings and parents as they played and created music. Growing up around a variety of music genres, Classical Music made the biggest impression on him and as such, his repertoire consists mainly of Classical Music composers. Not being able to fulfill his dream of becoming a concert pianist, he now spends his days teaching Western Art Music and recording works that is dear to him: "Music is a word that is very dear to me. It is the language I came to know before I could speak. Since I was born, I have been exposed to all sorts of music. I grew up in a family where music was our primary source of nourishment. It fed us through difficult times and then, some more difficult times. Put simply, music is my core sustenance."
