Brian J Morris & Shenee Johnson Bio Born in Valdosta, GA on July 5, 1984, Brian J. Morris hails from an indigent and deprived atmosphere from the hood of this small southern town. It was this environment that increased his ability to utilize his God-given talents of singing and songwriting to escape the mental strain of these circumstances, with a steady mixture of prayer and Christian worship. After showcasing his abilities in several friendly settings, he met he first mentors, a married couple, who donned him with the stage name, J-Soul. After almost 15 years of recording secular music, meeting several different mainstream artists, and opening up for celebrities such as K-Ci & JoJo, R. Kelly, Trick Daddy, & Young Dro, he found himself back to the place where it all started…with God. Shenee is also a multi-talented singer, songwriter and performer. She started singing in church at the age of 4. At the age of 11 she became the lead vocalist in the church’s youth choir, and became the lead singer of the church’s adult choir at the age of 15. She performed with the choir on top local radio stations. At the age of 16 she began to perform R&B at many popular places, including clubs, parks, marches, rallies, fashion shows and talent shows. Her most memorable performances were at the popular Antun’s Catering Hall (for the Kedrick Ali Morrow Jr. Scholarship Benefit), at the annual Junteenth Celebration in Harlem and at Queens College. COMMUNITY ACTIVIST Shenee is the founder of “Life Support National Inc.” a non-profit organization dedicated to the mission of supporting families that have lost a love one by gun violence, and stopping such violence against others, especially youth. She founded the organization after her oldest son; Kedrick Ali Morrow Jr. was fatally shot, without cause, in 2010, one month before his high school graduation. He had also received notice of an academic scholarship to the prestigious New York’s St. Johns University. In furthering the Life Support cause, she has appeared on some of the top Radio and TV stations, including WPIX 11, NY 1, Channel 7 Eyewitness News and QPTV. Also she has been respectively interviewed, and reported by some of the most influential Newspapers, including the Daily News, The New York Post, the Queens Chronicle and the Times News ledger. In her efforts to further the cause: Shenee awarded a scholarship to a High School Senior through her “Kedrick Ali Morrow Jr. Scholarship Fund; she has participated in engagements attended by renowned guest, including, Ralph McDaniel’s, Russell Simmons, Al Sharpton, New York State Senator Malcolm Smith, Queens Councilman Leroy Comrie and Congressman Gregory Meeks. Although originally and R&B crooner, Brian J. Morris has returned to his roots of the church where he first found his love for music. Traditionally, gospel music has appealed to the driving and uplifting tempos of southern Baptist congregations specifically tailored towards the elder generations. With his newly released hit singles of “Down That Road Again” and “What If” featuring Jamius, he has merged the contemporary, more modernized styles of music with a controversial, yet anointed traditional gospel message to defeat the cultural and generational challenges that many Christians face today with gathering and sustaining the attention of the younger age groups. Recently Mr. Morris first time being in New York City to work on his current album with Wayne Whiteside CEO of Music for Life. Within that time frame as he was working on his album he ran across a young beautiful artist and song writer Shenee Johnson At that moment they both figured out did they have similar backgrounds and they end up doing a collaboration together called (Do something Together) single soon to be released. This will be release in August 2015. Their music video Do Something Together will be release in August 2015 as well. It has a touch of R&B and Soul. It captivates their vocals and the song in a unique tone. Furthermore, Brian Morris references 2Pac, Jodeci, Boyz II Men, Kirk Franklin, and The Canton Spirituals as his most notable musical influences coming up as a child and teen. Shenee Johnson’s musical influences as a child and teen were the late Whitney Houston, Mary J Blige, Jacqueline Poindexter, Bobby Poindexter and Richard Poindexter the original the original writings of the classic hit song It's a thin line between love and hate. After lifelong experiences, Brian J. Morris has finally come into his own and reached his potential as an Inspirational/Christian artist.
