A few years ago UNOMI (you-know-me) met Charles Greene, a Detroit-based Jazz musician, at a club where Greene's band was playing. Inspired by the music, he wrote lyrics to 10 of the beats in Greene's personal stash. This collaboration led to a live band performance at the Detroit International Jazz Festival, and the UNOMI "Tracks" CD, a blend of sarcastic Rap and laid-back Urban Jazz grooves, followed soon after. Assisting in this project are singers Robin Bradley, Michael Brock, Audrey Northington, and Ping Spells. Trumpeter Rayse Biggs and guitarist Spence Beamon also make cameo appearances. Since then, Unomi has re-located to the New York area and is doing multimedia projects and performing (under another name) in the US and Europe. Greene is currently wrapping up pre-production on 2 new CDs featuring his Piano and Keyboard work.
