All of these songs began as poems and morphed into something totally unexpected. After hearing Lillian sing " Soul of Christ" at a spring concert in church , I asked who wrote such a moving hymn. The lyrics are from a traditional Catholic prayer ''Anima Christe ". She simply put the words to music and eventually this cd was born. Five songs into our venture , I played a taped version of guitar and vocals for a local friend and businessman , as we drove to attend a baseball game.He insisted that we produce more songs , enough to complete a cd , and he would pay for studio time and musicians. Thank you Ed ! After completing eight more songs we began to record. The cd was nominated for seven UNITY awards , which is the Catholic version of the Grammys. We were nominated in " the new group of the year " category and Michael was nominated in " the male vocalist of the year " category. Our music has been described as " eclectic " but we just wanted to sing about Jesus and share his love with Christians of every persuasion. Track thirteen can be heard in it's entirety in my mother's memory !
