"Runnin' Through The Bayou" is swamp blues at it dirtiest. The slide guitar work played by guitarist Ricky Laurent (my hero) is sizzling hot. The song was inspired by my friend Maria Hawkins, who I was performing with in the schools during Black History Month a few years ago. After hearing her recapture how the slaves in America escaped through the underground railroad, and the trials they went through, I was inspired to write this song. The other musicians here are Ricky Laurent (my hero) on a great slide guitar solo, Owen Brown Bass, Jorge Reyes Drums, Rene Fortier on Percussion and myself, Steve Groves Guitar & Vocals.
