With solid showings in numerous MC battles from Rocksteady to Scribble Jam, The Wrist has been able to secure himself an always growing following. He has also opened for or shared stages with countless world renowned artists such as Immortal Technique, Blueprint, Jeru Da Damaja, Group Home, Planet Asia, Dead Prez, Killarmy, J Live, and infinite amounts of others. When potential fans catch wind of Wrist’s energetic and unpredictable live performances, its obvious that he has spent years perfecting his craft. Born Seth Serrano in Orange County, NY, The Wrist first heard hip hop being played in the back of the bus by the high school kids while he was on the way to kindergarten. The rhyme patterns and drum heavy instrumentals left him intrigued. After his parents divorced at age 10, his mother moved him and his brother to the Catskills region of Sullivan County, NY. His new rural surroundings were not known for breeding hip hop fans in general, let alone MC’s. While most MC’s grew up rhyming in the lunchroom against classmates, Seth seemed completely alone in his interest and was forced to practice by himself in his room to imaginary audiences, strengthening his abilities for use years later. After High school, Seth fled his secluded upstate NY home and attended Rutgers University while moving to New Brunswick,NJ. His academic life soon became unfocused as he met and sharpened his skills against any local hip hop artists he connected with, leading to his dominant win in a freestyle battle tournament that was being held at the university. Wrist soon failed out of college and focused all his attention on capitalizing on his talent. While MCing is his first passion, The Wrist has also gained notoriety as a more than capable producer. Most recently, he produced the Jackie Chan inspired “Rush Hour” EP for California based battle rap legend, Okwerdz. The project has received over 40,000 downloads to date, with 35,000 coming in the first month of release! His ability to build tracks creatively, yet with an unmistakable grit, has flooded his e mail with production requests from all over the country. While The Wrist has earned praise from fans of all ages and even some hip hop legends, he still remains unknown to many. This will all change this summer when he releases his long awaited debut LP , “Recycling Sucks”.
