About "Jay 'n Doll" "Jay 'n Doll" aka. Jay and Carole Jacobs, is a duet made up of a Texan and a Queenslander. They are Country/Western with a little bit of Blues & Folk. Jay, born into a Texas country music family, appeared as a "regular" on "The Hayloft Jamboree" (aired by KBWD) in Brownwood, Texas with "The Texas Saddlebusters" and on "Big State Jamboree" (aired & televised by KRBC) in Abilene, Texas. While in the US. Navy, Jay was a member of his ship's recreational band, "The Oz Trio". The "Oz" band performed "Goodwill" shows in Hawaii, The Philippines, Hong Kong and Japan. The "OZ Trio" performed shows in Brisbane and The Gold Coast in Australia for 4KQ Radio. Carole, in her teen-age years, taught dancing at Dick and Noela Orchard's Studio in Brisbane and loved to sing at home and at parties. She developed her love of country music from living in Texas for twenty-one years and has a passion for playing bass and percussion. As songwriters they have worked on their album for three years, traveling to Nashville in 2008, 2009 and 2010 and appearing on "Writers Night" at the "Hall Of Fame Lounge" on Music Row in Nashville with post-recording tours of some of Texas' Oprys. "Jay 'n Doll" have a passion for special arranged pre-loved loved songs with a real country feel. Their CD "Mixed Emotions" is a mix of originals (#1, #4, #9, #10) and a few covers. They returned to Nashville in 2011 and 2012 to continue recording for an EP to be released in mid-2014, Whoa Sailor is one of three songs ready for release. Jay 'n Doll's tours of the Texas Opry Circuit included performing as "Guest Artist" at "Cove Opry", Copperas Cove, Texas, "Wylie Opry", Wylie, Texas, "Cowtown Opry" in Ft Worth, Texas, "The Texas Music Theatre", Waxahachie, "The White Elephant Saloon" in Ft Worth and Willie Nelson's Whiskey River Saloon, Carl's Corner, Texas; they were "Featured Artists" on "Gladewater Opry", Gladewater, Texas and "Cross Timbers Opry" in Stephenville, Texas. At home in Queensland, they perform for Club Socials, cafes, festivals and fundraisers. "Jay 'n Doll" have appeared as Guest Artists at Urban Country Music Festival, Coast Acoustics, Farm Fantastic and most of the Country Music Clubs and Festivals of Queensland. Jay, being a "Returned Service" veteran and a member of the RSL, with "Jay 'n Doll", performs regularly for many of the RSL facilities in the greater Brisbane area. Jay plays guitar, harmonica, fiddle and Banjo. Carole plays bass and "stompie". They both sing solo and duet.
