简介
PENn STATION: Uppanotch X S. Habib Uppanotch Danon and Hosannah rhyme for the purpose of bringing the caliber of hip hop UPPANOTCH. Danon is a Queens native with a sharp tongue capable of carving through many styles. You can feel his life experience in his rhymes, and he’s gifted in everything from the art of story telling to straight lyrical spitfire. Hosannah was born in England , and emigrated to Queens, N.Y. with his family when he was just 3 years old. Hosannah finds a way to hold the track hostage- he’d rather surround it than be on top of it. Born of West Indian parents (Danon's father is Trinidadian and Guyanese while his mother is Guyanese, Hosannah's parents are both Guyanese), these first cousins tell not only the stories relevant to the modern day American kid, but also those ancestral poems that guided their bloodlines... The same same bloodlines that fuel their push for excellence in music, academia (Danon holds a law degree, while Hosannah holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering), and business (with the creation of Uppademics, a non-profit program geared towards helping youth balance their artistic passions with their academic goals). S.Habib Born in Newark, NJ beeb’s life began in an environment where dreams had become cloudy and crack had become five minute hits of paradise. Ge spent his early childhood in the shadows of major crime areas, protected by family and of course this thing called hip hop. Life changes ended that chapter and he began a new one in rural Louisiana. It was here where he learned his skill, creating feelings of home with every story told. He would return to the east coast after graduation to pursue what he felt was missing, hip hop. There he meet D.who and they formed the duo “ahbseen kwestions” aka “OQ” . They terrorized the underground scene with amazing freestyles, on public display in places such as Washington Square park, NYC. Monthly visits to the Nuyorican Poets Cafe, then hosted by Bobbito Garcia. The Duo made their way to WKCR and the famed “Stretch and Bobbito Show”. They later recorded a full length album “the air album”. then dropped off the scene. In 2016 we meet s.habIB in a new place, a couple solo albums, duos with his brother, the prolific recording artist elespee, children, a wife, he has a new scope on life and music. His recent release “Afternoons” is the first solo venture release on the newly formed gpNYC. an independant label with New Orleans/NYC roots.
