Rooted in acoustic sounds, vocal harmonies, guitar, banjo, mandolin and double-bass, Bend The Barb’s folk music is the result of the collaboration between Matteo Maggi, Lorenzo Ciarafoni and Alessio Cordaro; young musicians, with an individual story coming from three separate paths. Matteo, after a long period in North Carolina met Lorenzo in Rome. Immediately they formed a musical kinship, and added Alessio from Sicily, to the duo. During the first period, they established themselves through the inspiraton of multiple bluegrass and indie/folk bands. Later, studying old time and descovering new modern sounds and styles, the band had a collection of songs ready for a studio, and in the winter of 2017 they sat down to record their debut EP, called Bend The Barb, named after the band. The EP was a brief presentation of their music. The trio is now already at work on a new album.
