Various Artists – Bass-Sick EP The first EP in the catalogue to give us a various artist’s variety. Side A and On the Ball Trio give us the first H&T collaboration between label staples and South African house music legends Craig De Sousa and Erefaan Pearce. With ‘What You Could Not Do’ we have an insatiable funk track that has been destroying South African dance floors since its completion in 2006. With a head full of 90’s house sounds the duo perform and execute the perfect new/old house sound that sweeps the house world in this day in age, almost 6 years later. A special mention goes out to Analogue Ears for his contribution to the production. Side B and Double Dipped are a combined effort from Craig De Sousa and younger brother Grant. ‘Jungle Talk’ is named after the many hidden animal and wildlife samples that sit under the vocoded and relentlessly catchy hook/lead. Originally produced as an exclusive for Grant’s ‘Deeper Sounds of…’ mix compilation, it now gets a well-deserved label release four years after completion.
