Hailing from the swamps of Chicago, guitarist and songwriter B Forrest’s palette of audible paint contains the colours blues, folk, love, and soul. His debut album entitled “Back to Bodhi” (self produced with entrepreneur Doug Saltzman), was a seed turned tree at the hands of some of Chicago’s finest young talent; recorded at a grassroots studio called The Coach House. Back To Bodhi has a lush, eclectic track list, that mixes simple and subtle songwriting with tradition and a soulful message. The personnel are truly some of Chicago's best on the city's burgeoning music scene. The 13 piece band largely consists of the members of the acclaimed group Sidewalk Chalk, with the addition of a string quartet, and features the masterful playing of virtuoso Caroline Davis, and the soulful voice of rising star Sam Trump. The feeling of the recording is one of true autonomy because it was recorded in such a grassroots environment at The Coach House (which is exactly that, a coach house turned professional home-studio by a group of passionate friends). Forrest and Saltzman create a vivid soundscape of honest music making on this truly authentic first release.
