简介

Grainger pours out his heart and soul in this honest and, at times, gut-wrenching take on the trials of everyday life. Through the eyes of a dad who wants to cherish every moment he can with his children all the while asking God to embrace them through divorce as only God can, to keeping perspective in life and being okay with grieving and dying to a dream. His influences of Steven Curtis Chapman, Michael English, Michael McDonald, Vince Gill and Stevie Wonder were clearly illuminated here. All Five songs were written solely by Grainger. Grainger sang every note. He even played every instrument on the project as well as produced it. Fall- Keeping life in perspective. You don’t ever want to forget where you came from and never lose sight of where your talents came from. Regardless of the kind of success you’ve attained, it’s important to remember how you were raised and where you came from and never let money or success own you. It’s ok to own IT. Just don’t let IT own you. Invisible to Invincible- Have you ever felt insignificant or useless? Like no one knows you’re alive? Exactly. We all have. The problem is we somehow believe we’re the only ones going through this. This song hopefully illuminates the fact that this is more common than originally thought with the goal of realizing your true identity. Storm Before the Calm- It’s important to note that the first line is his wonderful daughter Maddie singing and the next two lines are his wonderful daughter Rainey. This one is a clever play on the common phrase while pointing out that the “storm” is exactly what you want because way too soon it will be “calm”…they’ll be gone. Hurt- Often we talk about how to stop hurting; how to get over pain and painful circumstances. And those are accurate and necessary conversations. But sometimes you just hurt. Plain and simple, you just hurt. You know you’ll be ok but for now, you hurt. This song shows that it’s ok to hurt. “Pain is how you know you still feel”. Hold Them- When small children are forced to deal with divorce, this dad cries out to God and asks Him to hold them in such a way only He can. Parents do everything they can do to maintain the spiritual and emotional health of the child, but truly God’s peace must consume them in order for this transition to smoothly take place.
