简介
I studied Musical Theater and acting for 4 years at the University Of Hertfordshire in the UK. I appeared as an extra in movies including The Young Americans with Harvey Keitel and Judge Dredd with Sylvester Stallone. I am also an award-winning writer of Musical Theater winning the Vivian Ellis Best Composer Award along with my co-writers in 1996. My shows have been staged in the West End of London at the London Palladium and Her Majesty’s Theatre. In 1990 I wrote the multi-million selling hit single Dirty Cash/Money Talks, which got to number 2 in the UK charts and number 25 in the US Billboard. I have had 3 number ones in the Billboard Club Chart including the 1992 song “Set Me Free” performed by Clubland. In 1993 Simon Cowell signed me as an artist to his Arista label in London. I was subsequently signed to BMG then Sony records as a vocalist for the band Surreal Madrid. In 1996 I had the privilege of meeting and singing with Sir Paul McCartney at an impromptu “jam session” at his Soho office. In 2010 UK Rapper Dizzee Rascal covered the song “Dirty Cash” (renaming it Dirtee Cash) It was released digitally on 21 September 2009, and followed his number-one hits "Holiday" and "Bonkers". The track went to number 1 on the iTunes download chart. At the 2010 BRIT Awards on 16 February 2010, Florence and the Machine were joined by Dizzee Rascal and performed an extended version of "You Got the Love" which featured Dizzee Rascal interweaving his Dirtee Cash; she was awarded a BRIT Award for having made the best British album of the year, Lungs while he won the Best British Male award. The single, "You Got the Dirtee Love" was released on 17 February 2010 exclusively to iTunes, one day after the BRITS performance. On 21 February 2010, the single entered the UK Singles Chart at number 2. The single is featured on the Dirtee Deluxe Edition of Dizzee Rascal's Tongue n' Cheek album. Although “You’ve Got The Dirtee Love” bears little if any resemblance to the original “Dirty Cash” due to sampling and copyright laws I did receive royalties and a writing credit. I have been fortunate to be able to pay my mortgage entirely from the income generated by my music since 1990. If I can do it, with a little luck so can you.
