What up. It's Erik Grizzly. E. Grizzly for short and instead of telling you what I am I'm a tell you what I'm not. I'm not a killer. The only people I murder is MC's on the mic. I'm not a baller. I drive a 93 Hyundai Excel. I would get a new car but this one just won't break down. I'm not a pimp. I don't have thousands of girls knocking on my door wanting to hop on my penis. I'm not chopping up blocks of crack at my house. The only feans I have is my fans. I make conscious music but I'm not a preacher. I just speak the truth and you can run with it any way you want. I don't just speak for the thugs, I don't just speak for the hood, I speak for the people. I am the average joe, or more like the average jose. I just happen to destroy microphones when there handed to me. I'm 25 and I've been a hip-hop artist/songwriter for the last ten years. I was born outside of Philly and in 2001 I was signed to an independent label called A Type Tactics. things weren't moving and I was tired of the up north scene so I moved to Miami in 2003. I started making music with another independent label called Puerto Roc Records. We are the original Hip-hop is dead crew so don't believe everything you hear. AND YO EVERYBODY AND THEY MOMS is gettin all touchy, fealy when I say Hip hop is dead! First of all its an opinion I have of the state of Hip hop. I base this opinion on how theres no more writers writing graf, no B Boys breaking, and no DJ's mixing and scratching on they mix tapes. And the ones that do are an endangered species. And there is no MC's making serious doe off of real hip hop other than Kanye West's whole clique. I'm sure you can name a bunch of super lyrical MC's right now but they ain't making noise like that. Yo, have you turned on the radio lately. I can't even listen to it anymore. All I play is Hip hop CD's from the 90s. Now we got Crunk, Regeton, and "In the Club" tracks, making all the doe and thats cool but thats not Hip hop. If you get upset when you see the phrase "Hip hop is dead!" THEN DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!! Thats the whole point. Buy Mos Def's last album, go to the local hip hop shows. If enough people try to change this then somethings gotta give. But hey its just an opinion. Now I know if I go to the undergrounds of music I can still find Hip hop. Hip hop is dead! is not just a bunch of words its a movement of hopes to awaken the art from the underground. To open eyes, to piss people off, to make a change. Hey sombody has say something because we do have a problemBTW: If yall want some hip hop is dead shirts we got those too.
