This Trinity met at the Rotterdam Conservatory in Passion of Classical Indian Music. With Heiko's travels into the electronic scene in Amsterdam/Europe (lot's of Sutra-Funk, Club Karma, Sfinks), they smoothly found a warm rich sound together(though to bring it out took quite a while). Celine Wadier - Fairy Tailed Vocals & lyrics, keyboard/ MartijnBaaijens - Funky Sarod, keyboard/ Heiko Dijker - Tabla, Laptop-programming, keyboard Celinn's music finds its origins in times when Internet, cars, mp3 and gpj creatures were still not really there. In those times, other things existed, such as Dragons, Gnomes and all kinds of that sort of beings, all together singing along with the first Wizards, ancestors from the Dhrupad Masters from India. Celinn, who was quite a dreamy creature as you probably noticed, has been doing a few things since then. First of all, she's been touring in Pakistan last year. She's a dhrupad Vocalist. On the other side, she's a songwriter since long ago. At the age 7, she said this: "when I ll grow up, I want to be a Soundtrack Composer". Since then she wrote 208 songs, and no soundtrack. Now most of her songs sound like a soundtrack. And she loves it. She fell into the medieval music from North India in 2000, sometimes things happen very fast et hop. So she found herself learning the basics of dhrupad singing during 6 years, under Ustad Zia Fariddudin Dagar guidance. In December 2006 she graduated from the Rotterdam Concervatory by performing a dhrupad recital in front of a commitee headed by Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia. It was quite an enjoyable experience for her as for the commitee who gave her the enjoyable mark of 9.5 . After that.. spread your wings butterfly, roarr lion, attain shark, and most of all: sing mermaid.. Martijn started his musical path at young age with his guitar. During his guitarstudy he came in contact with Indian music by the Sound of the Sarod. The intens melodic en rythmical possibilities had great impact on him. He has studied Indian music at the Rotterdam conseratorium with Koustuv Ray and also with sarod-master Buddhadev Das Gupta. Lately he started to mix the traditional form with other musical experiments. Like Aesh togheter with some funkiness.. He also played with flamencomucisians and Arabic Ud music. Heiko Dijker is an Amsterdam based Tablaplayer whose playing is marked by enthousiasm and energy, depth of knowledge and rythmic poetry. After years of traditional training with Shri Bhaswaraj Bhendigeri in India, he continued to learn with grandmaster Faiyaz Khan in the Guru-Shisya (Master-Disciple) system. Holding a Masters-degree in classical Tabla of the Rotterdam Conservatory, where he studied with Ted de Jong and Ustad Faiyaz Khan, Heiko has been working with great Indian classical and not so classical musicians and dancers, as well as with fusions of traditional and innovative music and dance. Just to name a few: Sandhya Sanjana (Indian vocal), Neela Bhagwat(Indian vocal), Pandit Birju Maharaj(the legendary Kathak dancer), Ustad Fariddudin Dagar, Bahauddin Dagar (Roudra Veena), Amine and Hamza M'raihi(Tunesian Oud and Kanoun), Praful, Het Nieuw Ensemble (contemporary western), Scapino Ballet, Concerto Rotterdam (with Jacob ter Veldhuis), Lenneke van Staalen, Sharat Srivastava, Taal Vadya(rythm group with South-Indian percussionists), Shinske Ishihara(Japanese Marimba virtuoso). Next to enjoying his performances, he is an accompanist of great masters like Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia(Bansuri) and Pandit Buddhadhitya Mukherjee(Sitar) at the Indian classes at the Rotterdam Conservatory, and a teacher at the SKVR music school in Rotterdam.
