We as listeners of vocals and instruments must formulate our opinions regarding what we feel or think about the overall power of music. I myself, as a Tastemaker within the states of Florida, Georgia, and Alabama, feel it necessary to listen to all types of music although rap is my main focus. Having said that, I felt compelled to say that Florida artist FJ Outlaw is a guy that caught my attention. I found both interest and delight in listening to his style of music. He brings a down home southern appeal to your ears but it is buffered by a country music vibe that tugs at you some, while still providing that gutter rap tensity that reminds you that pain is pain and that joy is joy.....that the human spirit must go on no matter the situation. FJ Outlaw's production of music is a mixture of sounds that although simple, they pull at your emotional strings and demand that you give the lyrics a chance as well instead of moving pass the track. Once FJ starts to rap, you can feel his sincerity in every bar and I sensed that he was conveying his life more than he was his song. His heart is put on the line just the way I love to hear artists do. FJ Outlaw's music is something that has expression and purpose during times such as these....the hard days and the long nights...the sad issues of the world along with the broken code of life. FJ brings reality music so no matter how you may classify it, the best category to place it in is REAL. Its definitely worth a listen so you can experience the ability that this Florida artist has pulled from the dirt road side of his life and placed on the open interstate of his truth.
