简介
Jean‘s life adventures vaulted her from a young SF punk drummer frequenting the Mabuhay Gardens in San Francisco to a singer/songwriter band front person in Austin, TX with stops in NYC, Canada and Thailand along the way. Her journey from teen rock n’ roller to punkette is chronicled a one-woman-one guitar player show, “Sadie Saturday Nite” which she performed in Austin, Buffalo and at the Hamilton Fringe Fest in ON. The show morphed into the "Sadie Saturday Nite" , a concept album about coming of age in the punk scene. The album features Josh Robins and Mike Trebilcock on guitar and Thor Harris (Swans, Shearwater) guests on drums. Jean had a cameo in the movie Slacker and worked on the film "Waking Life" as an animator. Caffeine's folk-infused storytelling captures both the heady and foreboding elements of Bay Area youthdom in the Summer of Hate.”-Austin Chronicle “Jean Caffeine is an important part of American music culture. Not because of the places she has been or the people she has met, but because her songs document them in a truly individual way. She is a cultural historian of sorts. Oh, and the songs kick ass too.”-411 Mania
