Behind The Moon is a pop Music project created by Charles-Étienne Dagenais in Montreal, Canada. Charles is a musician and singer songwriter and he's been playing guitar since he was 10 years old. Even though he has made his studies in Jazz Guitar at Saint-Laurent College in Montreal, Charles always had an interest in pop music for it's melodies, hooks and riffs. This first composing project allowed Charles to explore different soundscapes and work on different aspects of the songs he composed. The fact that he studied in Jazz Interpretation gave him an interest in music arranging and sound shaping and this adds a rich touch to all the music he records. As for this first album, a few songs were old ones from a few years back that Charles worked on and the others were composed especially for this project. He always wanted to record music that would allow him to connect with people and that is musically interesting and rich, even though it stays simple. A word from Charles... Hey guys, I am a music composer and singer songwriter for Montreal, Canada. This is my first original music project and I am very excited about all of this. There is 2 main reasons why I wanted to start this kind of project. The first one is that I always wanted to compose and record my own music. I've been writing stuff since I was very young and for as long as I remember it was always my dream to compose and record my own music. This debut album has been the most thrilling, fun, and rewarding experience of my whole life and I have learned so much by doing it. The second reason is that I think maybe I can reach people with the music I write and compose. I believe that music is kind of universal in the way it can emotionally touch people regardless of their age, nationality, background or taste. Everyone feels something while listening to music either it's from the message of the song, the music or both. I just wanted to create something that could allow me to connect with people so they would feel the same thing about my music that I feel and I truly hope that it touches someone, somewhere. I had the chance to work with an amazing musician that helped me over the whole experience of this first album. He was there through the whole process and was kind of my mentor. Alexy Guerer is the one who convinced me to record a first album with my own compositions and I would probably have never done it by myself if it wasn't of him. He helped me with the song structures, lyrics, arrangement, he played the drums and he even mixed the album. I am very thankful that he taught me so much and that he was always there for me. I also had the chance to work with amazing musicians and friends that I am very fortunate to know. Here are all the musicians that played on the album.
