From swamp to shining swamp, Bruisey Peets (Ben Usie) gurgles and pulses with his unique brand of noisy electronic pop. Originally from Lafayette LA, Usie has been a DC transplant for most of a decade playing in bands such as Pree and Br’er while also directing music videos for bands such as Paperhaus, Pree, Deleted Scenes and Br’er . Now back in New Orleans, he weaves between the graveyards and poets that line the Mississippi River.

Ur Not Free, is a contemplative minimal album tackling power, queerness, loss and faith through a hissy absurdist lense. Recorded on an old Tascam 388, the album was made often in single takes with focus on simple basslines and sample-based grooves over which Usie croons, raps and rants. Live, Bruisey preaches and screeches with a sense of sass and humor that swings between engaging and riveting.
