Keshav Singh is an 18 year old jazz guitarist and composer from Santa Cruz, California. In April 2008 he released his first full-length album of six original compositions and one arrangement. The album features five other young jazz musicians from Santa Cruz, including the prodigious Le Boeuf brothers. Keshav's music draws influence both from classic sources such as Miles Davis, John Coltrane and Charles Mingus, and from younger artists such as Pat Metheny, Joshua Redman, and Kurt Rosenwinkel. His compositions are characterized by shifting time signatures, complex rhythms and unusual harmonies. Recently, Keshav was one of the youngest winners of the prestigious ASCAP Young Jazz Composer Award for his composition "Into The Maze".
