This CD was hatched over a 3 year period between the hours of 8:30pm and 12:00am. It is a record of experiments and inspirations that melds sonic territory from genres like ambient, down-tempo, trip-hop and jazz. The effect is cinematic, dreamy, lush and occasionally spooky. The songs are mostly instrumental with an occasional clip of dialog or vocal flourish, while song structures defy traditional models. The instrumentation is a mix of live recorded drums, bass, trumpets and guitar with electronic beats, synths and turntables. :: REVIEW :: "I am reminded of the first Dj Dan Cd I ever heard (loose caboose)... then the melodic, hypnotic beat of something much more exciting starts in... I knew I was in for a treat, instantly relaxed by the sound of electronica music. This Cd is outstanding, the production quality very good, crisp & warm with hints of old vinyl running through songs. "Dear Jesus" has a great vocal poetry rocking all over it, I couldn't put my finger on what exactly what struck my interest as I was taken through a journey of chilled out break beat drums with a rhythm all to it's own. The voice was one of the best I have heard for electronic music & well played into the structure of the song. The whole Cd sucked me into and I soon found myself at the end of the album rewinding back to one of my favorites "Stolen." This song is HOT! A great drum production & melody with rhythms of something taking me back, back to old school flavor with a new school twist of sound.
