In every walk of life we share common bonds by living life lessons and it is with these ties that singer/songwriter Jon Patterson shares these lessons and messages musically with us. Jon was not born into a singing family or an entertainment powerhouse. He grew up in Southern Ontario in the hard working area of Oshawa, Ontario, far from the vibrant music and entertainment scene of Nashville, TN. He has lived life as a young traveling musician, an artist, son of a military man, a businessman and above all a father to three boys. Most of Jon’s songs are drawn from real life experiences. Jon showed an interest in music at a very young age, his talent started to grow during drum lessons at the early age of 12 and his influences included the high energy performance ethics of drummers such as Neil Peart, John Bonham, Steve Gadd and David Garibaldi just to name a few. By 16 he was playing in clubs in the Toronto area, venues ranging from 100 people in small clubs to 500+ in large outdoor events. His shy side hid behind a full array of rock drums but as his confidence grew he began singing and soon moved to front bands as their lead singer. Eventually he picked up the acoustic guitar and became the front man for a number of bands in the Toronto area demonstrating a unique ability to relate to his audiences. His stage presence is able and Jon’s talent in capturing his audience and transforming the room is unquestionable. Jon’s continued success lead to appearances on various TV show's, a long string of performances in local clubs and corporate gatherings. His song writing began about the same time, under influences by The Eagles, James Taylor and Elton John and in later years Keith Urban and various other new country artists. “I like to write songs that make people think,” He says, “songs that can help people put their issues into perspective.” “I get great pleasure when a fan comments on how my songs positively impact them in their own lives”. Quite simply an explanation for a sound that is comprised of blues, country rock, and soul in a tangle of raw emotions that we feel and can all relate to on a daily basis.
