Steve Porter is without a doubt one of the best and most prolific song writers to come around in a long time, with the gift of making you smile with his unique way with lyrics and producing and having the foresight to put together this particular group of world class musicians of such an outstanding caliber to form a band as good as Nice As Pie is just pure genius. The selection of songs he chooses to record with the band makes it difficult to put Nice As Pie in any particular genre as every song is completely different, but that’s also what makes it so unique in a day and age when so many songs sound alike. They are fresh, energizing, and guaranteed to put a smile on your face. I just love their album “Stand Well Back” which also features the legendary Charlie McCoy & Leo Sayer on harp, and I for one can’t wait to hear what’s coming next from these guys.
