简介
The key to Cameron Elliott's originality lies in his somewhat unusual childhood. Having lived in England, America, Japan and Malaysia all before the age of 10, it is no surprise that the subject matter of Cameron's poetic lyrics is often observational and reflective. This regular upheaval could also explain the slightly schizophrenic nature of his music which shifts from song to song, always on an acoustic guitar but very rarely in a definable musical vein. He drifts through surreal, rollicking alt-country tales of shape shifters and fever dreams, folk ballads of voyages through America’s rugged west, and flamenco guitar-lined stories of ex-lover exorcisms. Combining a playing style garnered from greats such as Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, and Nick Drake and a rich, laid back vocal quality evocative of Jim Croce, Cameron has forged a sound all of his own. He is the archetypal seeker, searching for solutions through poetry and music to most if not all of life's little puzzles and relaying them back to anyone who cares to listen. Reviews: "What ties it all together is Camerons tastefully judged vocal and guitar performances and the wonderfully sympathetic production of Marty Brown, who fills the tracks with light, shade and air almost as if they were recorded under a shady tree in the middle of a sun-dappled field." Rave Magazine. "Those actively involved in the Brisbane music loop will already know who Cameron Elliott is, those who dont, get excited..." Time Off Magazine "Cameron tackles each song with an unbridled passion and intensity inviting the audience in for a close up concert with honest, observational lyrics" Tsunami Magazine "Witches and Pilgrims is a simply magnificent EP full of fabulous tracks which showcase Camerons artistry and insightful songwriting.
