简介
The Company is one of the East Coast’s premier bands known for their versatility and talented members. The Company is putting its own spin on the music industry by giving people a combination of music genres creating delectable sounds the ear can only imagine. These incredibly talented musicians all come from different musical backgrounds to form one of the most requested bands. They offer an eclectic blend of neo-soul, R&B, pop, and jazz. With horns on the left, the very best vocalists on the right, and a killer rhythm section holding it all together, “The Company” experience is one you will never forget! Founder, Ha’noch Hickman attributes the band's success to playing a wide variety of music to ensure everyone in the audience is entertained. Their extensive repertoire is comprised of over 200 songs. Their explosive energy on stage demands the attention of the audience, while their versatile ability keeps the audience thinking “What’s next?” The “Live” experience of The Company is like no other. Power drummer, Demond Corry, keeps the beats going, allowing the crowd to stay interested, and in a lot of cases keeps them on the dance floor. Their non-stop, energy filled show has earned them the nickname, “Human DJ Band.” Their finesse has allowed them to share the stage with legendary artists such as Erykah Badu, Urban Mystic, Dwelle, KRS One, Dave Chapelle, Talib Kweli, MusiqSoulchild, John Legend, Rueben Studdard, and Bobby Valentino just to name a few. All members of The Company have studied and performed extensively around the country and worked with artists like John P. Kee, Vickie Winans, Fred Hammond, K.C. and the Sunshine Band, Tom Joyner, Bill Cosby, Sunshine Anderson, Mike Phillips, Marcus Johnson, Babyface, Mario and Micheal Jackson. In December 2006, The Company Band made history as they recorded their debut LP “Daybreak”, live at Tempo Entertainment Complex in Charlotte, N.C. A refreshing collection of what they like to call “feel good” music, “Daybreak” is a “must” for every complete music library. Their first single “Daybreak” is a breath of fresh air to the ears. Saxophonist Derwin Friday (who also co-wrote the song) is featured on this track with the very talented Mike “Mikeman” Williams on the bass guitar. This album erases the lines of musical genres by appealing to more than one. “What About Love?” features a soul-stirring performance by the incomparable songstress Beverly Crowder. This lyrical creation sends a universal message of love and embraces a musical style of r&b and gospel. If straight ahead jazz is your thing, you’ll love “Night on the Town,” written by guitar player Carmelo Smith. This track takes you back to the great jazz movement of the 1920’s. The heavy swing beat and live horns will have you tapping your feet! Vocalist David Wesley works his four octave range on “A Song for Music.” This song is like smooth icing on the cake…..a jazzy-neo arrangement of riveting vocals, saxophone, flute, fender Rhodes, and last but not least trombone by the very soulful Buff Dilliard.
