简介

RAQUEL AURILIA Rising star Raquel Aurilia shares her heart and soul with her second album "Holding on to Love" featuring ten new songs, nine co-written by Raquel. Working with songwriter and producer Gardner Cole, who produced hit music for Madonna, Jody Watley and Amy Grant, Raquel takes her stunning vocal talent to a deeper, more personal level with songs of soul searching and passion. Raquel’s sophisticated sound on "Holding on to Love", captures her deep emotion on a moving backdrop of pop, soul and rock rhythms. Raquel provides both dreamy vocals up front and powerful back up on the upbeat groove "How Can I." The fluid refrain of "I Can’t Give" with its catchy chorus invokes the strength and independence of a life moving on. Raquel delivers a top performance on her rendition of the 80’s ballad "Love is on the Way" (Saigon Kick), staying true to the original yet giving it a new and more contemporary feel. A message of love shines through on every track of the new album, evident in Raquel’s evocative lyrics that pull from her own experiences in love and life. Combined with the exceptional accompaniment of the legendary Tim Pierce (Bruce Springsteen), "Holding on to Love" is a feel good collection that shows Raquel’s natural ability as an artist to break new ground. "To me this album has a different feel than the first because writing makes the songs mean that much more," Raquel says. Raquel’s 2007 debut album "Finding My Way" released with national distribution through Fontana/Universal and features her hit single "Feels Like" which cracked the ultra-competitive Radio and Records (R&R) Top 30 AC and Billboard Hot Adult Contemporary charts at #28 placing her amongst hot artists like Avril Lavigne and John Mayer. "Feels Like" is still receiving national radio play today. Working on the album both at home in Scottsdale, AZ (and Los Angeles) was often therapeutic for Raquel. Inspiration for the album’s emotive title track "Holding on to Love" came from the strength she witnessed in her family through the loss of a loved one. The upbeat "Everything" affirms being where you’re supposed to be in life when you learn to love yourself. "I think people will be able to relate to my songs on many different levels," Raquel says, "because love is universal."
