When I first came to writing this album, I knew that the easy part would be getting the songs. After a drought of over a year, it took only one cataclysmic event in my life to fire up the engines to start writing again. I wrote 50 songs for this album in 5 months, which gave me the opportunity to take the best 10 and make them the best songs they could be.

Once I had the songs 'in the bag' and demoed, I went in search of a studio and a producer- but again, life got in the way and I soon realised that if I wanted to release this record within the next 18 months I would need to go it alone. Not only was this daunting (I'd never produced or mixed anything before) it was at times massively frustrating (see previous brackets).

In the end though, it has been a far more rewarding experience for me, and making this record has been a complete labour of love. Special thanks to Phil for playing great bass, Amy for her beautiful voice and Marcos for his spectacular arrangement on 'Always'. I literally couldn't have done it without you.

And thanks most importantly to anyone listening to Join the Dots, in whatever format you choose to. I hope it's as rewarding to listen to as it was for me to make.
