Before he was Known as Xperience, Tyler Andrews grew up with his Mother in the Midwest. She moved them from city to city in search of good work, before eventually settling closer to family. Although born in Olympia, WA, Tyler spent his younger years growing up in the streets of Inkster, MI and Detroit, MI, before he and his Mother relocated again to Indiana. Here in the streets of Hammond, Gary, and finally East Chicago is where he would get an education in struggle and hustle. In an attempt to save her son from the cold and relentless grasp of the block, his Mother kept him in church, where he eventually became the drummer with the occasional singing solo. Taking what he had learned in the streets and infusing it with gospel, Tyler returned to the State of Washington to pursue a career in music as Xperience. Now residing in Seattle, XP has quickly become one of the most well-known and recognizable artists of his kind throughout the Northwest with his unique versatility and strong musical influence. In 2011, he was crowned with Olympia’s Best Readers Pick, Artist of the Year, and Album of the Year. With a few small west coast and south west tours, and a national tour with Atmosphere under his belt, XP has also been on two Macklemore & Ryan Lewis tours with plans for more. He has since continued to release notable new music independently and with other collaborators. He was featured on Macklemore’s album ‘Language of My World,’ and has worked with artists like Casual & A-Plus of Hieroglyphics, Grayskul of RhymeSayers Ent., Prince Po' of Organized Konfusion, Aesop Rock, Grammy Finalistic Q Dot, Bizarre of D12 and More. He is part of the Northwest Hip-Hop crew Oldominion, working with the likes of Onry Ozzborn & JFK of Grayskul, Sleep of The Chicharones, Smoke, Candidt and many others.
