The present album is a classical-crossover, rock interpretation by Dr. Kok of an episodic, instrumental composition originally written for solo piano and symphony orchestra by Sergei Rachmaninoff in 1934. The Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, Op. 43, contains 24 variations on a theme of the last of Niccolo Paganini's Caprices for violin. The Russian composer Rach died in 1943, as a consequence, his works entered the public domain in 2014.
