I am proud to say that I am releasing “LUMINOL The Houston Sessions” On October 21,2011. It is a collection of 13 brand new songs. For this collection of songs, I did my best to put my finger around this nation’s pulse at this time of it’s history in which uncertainty, nervousness, anger, betrayal and a sense of being helpless, fill the uneasy winds that blow through our collective hearts. We can feel the foundations of all we once thought were solid, steady and fair, trembling beneath our shoes. No one knows what lies ahead but instinctively we know it is not good news. Even the once joyous singing birds of the dawn seem muted and despairing. We wonder if the world has crossed the tipping point of no return. As hopeful as we want to be, if you connect the dots, the picture is grim. Have we just witnessed the stealing of all our dreams? Having said this, you may be surprised at one of the last songs on this CD, “A World Without America.” It is the America I remember as a child minus the dark threads that also connected our history. Phil Ochs wrote many great topical songs railing against our country’s politics and policy but he also wrote a love song to America called “The Power And Glory.” He still loved its people and original ideals as I do. An uncertain future is rushing toward us and we better be ready for it. It may be our last chance to regain the steering wheel of our destiny.. All hands on Deck…
