Mason Joseph Picerni, better known as Space Cadet, was born on January 2, 1997. This young hip hop artist has had a passion for music as long he could remember – Coming out of the Central Coast of California, with big dreams to become a legend, just like his grandfather, Junior Walker, and his group the “All Stars”. Space Cadet has been interested in music ever since he was a young child, when his Mom would play various types of music for him including, Lil Wayne, Jay Z and Cold Play. He always loved listening to the artist’s message and learned to have a great appreciation for many genres of music.

Space Cadet graduated high school in 2015, with MVP plaques in volleyball and basketball. In early 2014, while still in high school, Space Cadet recorded his first song, “Dream Big”, inside his friends’ closet. After releasing it on Sound Cloud and receiving an abundance of positive feedback, Space Cadet then decided to put his life and, what he wanted to say to the world, onto his first mixtape, “Self-Guided”. He was contacted and later partnered with DJ Slic Vic, which provided him with the opportunity to record his unique lyrics, in a collaborative environment. Towards the end of 2014, he released his first mixtape, “Self-Guided”, with distinctive tracks including, “What Is Life” and, “Good To Be Alive”. While enjoying the success and positive feedback from his first mixtape, he proceeded to do shows across the Central Coast and Southern California. Space Cadet has performed in numerous shows, opening up for many major artists including: Joey Badass, Denzel Curry, Waka Flocka Flame, The HBK Gang, RJ, and Lil Durk.

Space Cadet has a large fan base and strives to make positive changes in other’s lives through his music. He incorporates experiences that he has had in his own life – By having the listener walk in his shoes he hopes they can learn from his mistakes. As Space Cadet progresses through his journey of music and himself, he plans to have his own independent label and run nonprofit programs to benefit the community. With so many different positive influences and the creative ability that Space Cadet possesses, there truly is no limit to the level of success he can obtain. Space Cadet has a strong work ethic, is extremely disciplined and, has attained an insatiable desire to reach his dreams!
