简介
"To Live in Her Life" is a musical diary that journals the hope, passion, fulfillment and sadness surrounding a romance. The album captures a range of emotions through a journey of styles including rock, pop, jazz, alternative and ballads. Peter Day plays keyboards, guitars, bass, drums and sings most vocals. However, he is joined by a host of music friends. The most notable contribution comes from singer Scott Kirby (who recorded a series of singles in the 1970s and 1980s as Oskar Scotti). Kirby (a fellow member of The Glen Gang) spices things up with his soulful strains on six songs (tracks 3, 5, 9, 11, 12 and a hidden track) and adds percussion (track 9). Kirby's wife Marilu Kirby composed and performed a Spanish language narration for "Gotta Let You Go" and sang on the final track. Day's longtime fellow band member (The Glen Gang) Ben Brooks plays flute (tracks 9, 10) and adds background vocals on "Bonus Time." Steve Horan — a new member in the Gang — plays electric guitar on tracks 11 and 12 and sings background on track 12. Day's cousin Bob Day adds vocals on tracks six and 12. Flugelhorn player Kevin Mahan and drummer Rick Brownell bring their jazz chops to the second track, "Torn in Two." Dick Grannis, who is the uncle of rising star Kina Grannis, adds background vocals and classical guitar to the title track. Brooks' wife Clarissa Brooks and her sister Liz Sherlock add to the fun with vocals on "Bonus Time." The guest musicians recorded their tracks at home studios where they live, which included locations in Branson, MO, Mission Viejo, CA, Burbank, CA, Glendale, CA, northern Oregon, Pasadena, CA and San Diego, CA. "To Live in Her Life" was mastered by Kevin Mahan.
