This song was inspired while visiting with my mother, in the house I grew up in, after my father had a stroke and was confined to a nursing home. Although we were hopeful of his return, after months it was evident that he would not be coming back. Mom and I would visit at her house, but I never sat in Dad's living room chair, out of respect but almost as if he were there with us. Many things can remind us of our lost loved one's, and each of our senses can suddenly trigger those memories that we are happy to have, but are saddened because they are in now past. I've had many people say that this song speaks to them, reminding them of their own family. After a 6 month struggle, Oscar Graham passed on May 5, 2013. RG
