Chris Barbosa was born into a very cultural & diverse family. Barbosa being the youngest sibling out of 4, his mother Palmira Barbosa who is of Cape Verdean descent, and father Jose Barbosa who is also from the Cape Verde islands raised Chris Barbosa 15 miles south of those Boston city lights in a city called Brockton (Home of the champions). His parents were very determined, hardworking individuals who wanted nothing but the best for Chris & his siblings. At an early age, chris began teaching himself how to sing & play the piano. He developed the ability to sing & write music, as well as arrange harmonies to create songs. At the age of 11, Chris pursued his passion for music and signed up for his junior high chorus. Here is where Chris’s talents begun to be realized by his peers. At the age of 19, Chris decided to take his music career to another level and helped form one of Boston’s hottest R&B group(Image). Here is where chris formed a bond with 3 incredible musicians, Shane Tyler, Ryan Weche & Eric (Mykel). The group went on for 7 years touring and performing all over the East coast of Massachusetts, opening up for such artists as Jagged Edge, Rupiee, 112, Tank and many more. The group also performed at numerous clubs and venues. After the group years Chris & the group members decided to go their separate ways and this is where Chris followed his dream and became a solo artist. 2 years later, Chris released his first hit “So fine” which can be viewed on Youtube which catapulted him as a solo artist and gained respect in his city. Chris would later release “Hear that sound” which could be heard on soundcloud, which showed how diverse he was in his music. Hear that sound captured the hearts of females and males, from this point on, Chris knew music will be forever in his life. In 2011 Chris released his first Album “GROWN” which sold over 5,000 copies and 1200 downloads online. In 2012 Chris released his sophomore album “Born Again” & shortly after decided to follow his roots & pursue music in the Zouk/Kizomba market. Late 2012 Chris wrote & arranged his first zouk banger “Feels so right” which automatically gave him respect in this new market. Currently “Feels so right” plays in clubs all over New England & over seas. Feels so right has over 20,000 views and keeps growing by the day. Chris then released another banger “Estrela Ki ta brilha” & “SweetLove” all within a 4 month span. Chris Barbosa also wrote for many artists in the New England area & Overseas Including Isidora, Lily, Mykel, Passada Barbosa, Ryan Weche, Shane Tyler, Kharee & many more! Chris Barbosa is a very talented, Bright,Inspiring Singer/Songwriter. His ultimate goal is to forever put out feel good music & he intends to do just that. Currently Chris has a couple record deal options on the table, the future looks bright & you WILL see Mr.Barbosa on top when its all said and done. KEEP RISING
