简介
During a mad cap adventure to New York Chris had the amazing opportunity of meeting up with John Cale of The Velvet Underground. John encouraged Chris to go down to Greenwich Village where he stepped onto the stage for the first time to perform his own songs. Chris returned to the UK and began writing his first album This Atlantic Low. Released in Ireland, My Strength My Weakness and The Morning Light achieved widespread airplay on national radio. Chris did two tours of Ireland and several radio sessions including RTE 2. Going back to basics on his next album All Caught Up, an album inspired by Bruce Springsteens Nebraska, the track When The Sun Grows Cold started picking up very strong radio support around the UK. Chris was invited by 21 BBC regional radio stations to perform sessions and interviews. This included BBC Manchester, Cambridge, Merseyside and York. After signing with Cooking Vinyl Music Chris has been recording tracks for his next album with Pascale Giovetto [My Bloody Valentine, Elvis Costello, Bjork] and also recently with Canadian producer Arun Chaturvedi [Canadian producer of the year 2011]. Chris played dates in the US in June and again in October 2014 where he was also doing several co-writing sessions which included writing and working with producer and song writer Bruce Brody formally of The Patti Smith band and Lone Justice. Chris will be embarking on a more extensive series of dates in the US in 2015. “Imaginative and Captivating” The Guardian “The best attributes of the best singer/songwriters around” The Irish Times “Instant recognition many artists crave but only few can achieve” Hot Press www.chrisford.co.uk
