Carol are a Sheffield based band, established in 2009 by Tom Sanderson and David Sharman. Their music reflects a plethora of influences, including the 80’s electronica of Depeche Mode, the lyrical ambiguity and folk-scapes of Kate Bush, yet embracing the sheer poptasticness of Madonna and Pet Shop Boys, as well as the outlandish eccentricity of Klaus Nomi.

Carol are currently working on their first album of twelve tracks, covering issues of gender, sexuality, sensuality, frivolity, fun and loss. Yet, while Carol demonstrate the seriousness with which they approach their work by the core message running through it of both strongly personal and political polemics, underlying Carol’s production is their determination to ‘be creative, have fun and entertain, entertain, entertain’; an ethos that resounds at the forefront of their live performances.
