Featuring originals soaked with hard hitting grooves and catchy, playful songs, Trabant take their listeners in on the fun on the debut record ”Sanger fra Fredensborg Bibliotek” (Songs from Fredensborg Library). Mixing this with interpretations of the band members’ heroes from a wide range of genres (PJ Harvey, The Band, The Shins) makes a powerful combination, sure to separate from the crowd. The tunes vary from energetic free jazz rock, via modern acoustical jazz composition, to sober versions of The Shins ”Sleeping Lessons” and the Band’s ”Unfaithful Servant”. PJ Harvey’s ”To talk to you” erupts into a howling saxophone feature, all the three stamped with Trabants unique and recognizable sound. The jazz trio has lived its life in the undergrowth of the Norwegian jazz scene since 2004, and have travelled around Europe, hunting for their sound ever after.
