It was in the spring of 2013 that King James began learning the art music production in his home studio. King James enjoys the technical side of music, although he feels his strongest asset is his creative ability to compose lyrics. When King James was asked why he believes lyric composition is his biggest strength, he said,

"I want people to listen to what I have to say, so I am very particular as to what I say, and how I need to let my words flow together; that and I've had a lot of practice."
