Brenda Epperson Brenda was born in North Hollywood California. Her late father, Kentucky born Don Epperson, was both a country singer (charted on RCA/VICTOR) with two top 10 hits, “Sittin on the highway” with Glen Campbell singing back rounds, Don Epperson also co starred with John Wayne in “Big Jake.” After his sudden death in 1973, (he was 32) Brenda’s mother Sherry, was left alone to raise two daughters, Brenda and Deborah. A few years later the three of them left Southern California and moved to Dallas, Oregon, a small logging town of 6,000 people where Brenda spent most of her childhood. Shortly after that Brenda became a Christian at young age and found her forever father Jesus Christ. Sherry always told the girls that with God nothing is impossible. Brenda’s favorite author at the time was Ann Keimel, her book, “I’m Out To Change My World,” and that’s exactly what Brenda set out to do, one soul at a time. Brenda Started speaking and singing at a young age to various youth groups and encouraging kids. Early on Brenda had a passion for singing, she started singing in her church as well as various other churches and organizations and in High School was chosen as one of the youngest for a Jazz vocal group winning numerous awards. Upon graduation high school Brenda toured the Far East singing for the King of Thailand as well as other dignitaries. Upon her return she decided to reach for the stars, with only $100 in her pocket and a big dream and a big God, Brenda went back to Los Angeles. Within a few years Brenda landed the lead on the CBS series “The Young and The Restless,” Where she portrayed Ashley Abbott for more than eight years. Brenda began her film career, starring in the HBO, romantic comedy, AMORE, where she portrayed a singer, and performed song on the soundtrack. Then, she costarred with Swoozie Kurtz in the children’s movie “STORYBOOK.” Brenda also starred with Ted McGinley and Leah Remini in the LIFETIME made for t.v. movie romantic comedy “FOLLOW YEAR HEART,” where Brenda performed two songs on the soundtrack along with Anita Pointer, (Pointer Sisters) and Phillip Ingram. Brenda was honored to win the coveted “Angel Award” for best song. “If You Believe.” Brenda has had the opportunity to appear on many magazine covers, such as, Woman’s World, TV Guide, Soap Opera Digest, as well as many other magazines that included extensive stories on Brenda’s life and career. People magazine did a 5 page spread on her wedding, Allo!, French Telepoche, USA Today, LA Times, and many more. Brenda has also been featured on multiple entertainment and news programs across the country including, Oprah, CNN, CBS Morning news, TBN, Howie Mandel show, E! Entertainment, PAX, TBN and Good Morning New York to name a few. Brenda also was chosen to sing two songs on the soundtrack for the limited release movie “KNOCKOUT,” along with JOSE FELICIANO and the WINANS. Brenda then signed a recording contract with “SONY TRI/STAR LTC,” where as a recording artist she toured all over Europe as the opening act for “LIONEL RICHIE.” Brenda was recently on the reality show “INSTANT RECALL” with Wink Martindale, playing multiple characters in real life scenarios shot on hidden camera and aired on “GAMESHOW NETWORK.” Brenda has recently been back in the studio finishing two new original songs, which she wrote on her upcoming Contemporary Christian album. Brenda has enjoyed speaking to different youth groups as well as women’s groups across the country sharing her faith and encouraging others. She is the leader of a thriving women’s small group bible study and, The book “BROKENESS” that she shared her story in will be published and released in 2012. Brenda keeps busy with many different charities and children’s organizations giving of her time and talents. Brenda also was involved in H.U.P. (Hollywood Urban Project) an inner city choir teaching children of their importance and self worth through the power of song. Brenda led the group to rave reviews and their piece was featured on TELEMUNDO. Her most recent involvement is with “Cloud and Fire,” helping inner city kids learn, thru the love of arts! Brenda has also been asked to be apart of God’s Girl’s which in involves touring speaking and encouraging others to step into their “greatness” through Christ! What is next for Brenda? Only God knows, but what she does know is that anything is possible If You Believe!
