简介
I Just See You, was released in 2012. It's into it's second pressing. It sells well at live shows. In lieu of writing about the CD myself, I've decided to copy and paste a wonderfully descriptive and complimentary email I got from an LA bass player named Paul Marshall in March of 2013: Hi Tracy, I wanted to call you, to just be able to tell you this voice to voice, but I don't have your phone #. So, instead, you're getting this cold email, to thank you for, and to let you know how warmly I love your CD. The production is beautiful, and your singing is so great and personal. Of course, all the support musicians are beyond good. But the real stars are those sublimely crafted songs. Even having heard many of them live, they're still so fresh and affecting, funny and poignant. I made my busy wife, Colleen, sit down and listen to a few of my favorites. Okay, I'll tell you. I played her the title track, "Car Pool", and "Fire Up The W**d". She laughed, she cried. She laughed and cried some more. I said, do you want to hear one more? She said, oh yes. I played her "Table #9". She was in awe. Let me tell you a little bit about me and "Table #9". I remember the first time I heard you play it at Kulak's. Of course, I knew as soon as you said "Okie from Muskogee" who the song was about. Since I 'discovered' Merle in the mid '60s, pre-"OFM", and since I've been such a huge fan of his, I have a completely unrealistic proprietary feeling about him. Like, I know all about Merle, so I'm all puffed up with my Merle superiority complex. Hell, the first date Colleen and I went on was a Merle concert in Reno. Well, I had to acknowledge that you wrote a very nice song about him, without ever saying his name, and that it was really clever and sweet. But, before I played it for Colleen, listening to it while I played the CD for the first time, I realized what a truly lovely, moving, touching, brilliant song it is, and how much the song is about the waitress, as much or more than it's about Merle. Well, Colleen shed a few more tears and smiled a lot. I said, thanks for listening to those songs, I'm glad you liked them. She said, "Play the whole CD from the beginning!!" So we sat and listened to the whole CD straight through, smiling, laughing, and crying (not me, for God's sake...well, not much). So, thanks again. Great CD, Tracy. We're going to be ordering some copies. Not sure yet how many, but enough to give to some family & friends. Is there some retail outlet you'd prefer I use, or should I just buy them directly from you? Probably between 5 & 10 copies. I want to buy them where it will do the most good for you. Best regards, Paul
